Remove Clips From A Sequence

Remove Clips From A Sequence

Some video editors prefer to add everything to a sequence and then remove the clips they don’t want, gradually reducing the content until only the best material remains.

Here are two of the most common methods:

  • Select the clip(s) you want to remove and press the Delete key. This will delete the selected clips from the sequence and close any gaps that are created.
  • Use the Ripple Delete feature. To do this, select the clip(s) you want to remove and then click Edit > Ripple Delete. This will delete the selected clips from the sequence and move any clips that follow them forward to fill in the gap.

Here are some additional tips for removing clips from sequences in Premiere Pro:

  • You can also use the Track Select tool to select clips on multiple tracks. To do this, click the Track Select tool in the Timeline Panel and then drag a box around the clips you want to select.
  • You can also use the Command/Ctrl key to select multiple clips that are not next to each other.
  • You can use the Shift key to select a range of clips. For example, if you want to select all of the clips between two specific clips, you can select the first clip, hold down the Shift key, and then select the second clip.
  • You can use the Edit menu to access other delete options, such as Delete Tracks and Delete All Tracks.
