Build A Sequence
Most of the creative work in Premiere Pro happens when you build a sequence of clips that play, one after another. You’ll need to create a sequence before you can add clips to it.
To build a sequence in Premiere Pro, you can use the following steps:
- Open Premiere Pro.
- In the Project Panel, select the media files you want to include in your sequence.
- Drag and drop the media files into the Timeline Panel.
- The media files will be added to the Timeline Panel as clips.
- To add a transition between two clips, drag and drop a transition from the Effects Panel onto the Timeline Panel between the two clips.
- To add a title to your sequence, click the Titler button in the upper-right corner of the Timeline Panel.
- Type your title in the Titler window.
- To add an effect to a clip, drag and drop an effect from the Effects Panel onto the clip in the Timeline Panel.
- To adjust the duration of a clip, drag the end or beginning of the clip in the Timeline Panel.
- To export your sequence, click the Export button in the upper-right corner of the Timeline Panel.
Here are some additional tips for building sequences in Premiere Pro:
- You can also create a sequence by clicking File > New > Sequence.
- When you create a sequence, you will be prompted to select the settings for your sequence. These settings include the video format, frame rate, and resolution.
- You can also create a sequence based on an existing clip. To do this, right-click the clip in the Project Panel and select New Sequence from Clip.
- Once you have created a sequence, you can add clips to the sequence by dragging and dropping them from the Project Panel to the Timeline Panel.
- You can also add clips to the sequence by clicking the Insert button in the Timeline Panel and selecting the clips you want to add.
- You can rearrange the clips in the sequence by dragging and dropping them.
- You can delete clips from the sequence by selecting them and pressing the
Delete
key. - You can trim clips by dragging the beginning or end of the clip in the Timeline Panel.
- You can add transitions between clips by dragging and dropping transitions from the Effects Panel to the Timeline Panel between the clips.
- You can add titles to your sequence by clicking the Titler button in the upper-right corner of the Timeline Panel.
- You can add effects to clips by dragging and dropping effects from the Effects Panel to the clips in the Timeline Panel.
- You can adjust the duration of a clip by dragging the end or beginning of the clip in the Timeline Panel.
- You can export your sequence by clicking the Export button in the upper-right corner of the Timeline Panel.
